Tamang is one of the indigenous habitats of Nepal with their distinct culture, language, and religion.
Tamang heritage trekking or commonly known as Rasuwa trek is the Eco-trekking route situated in northern Kathmandu that magnificently blends well with the Langtang National Park.
It is very popular among those who are fond of or who want to experience home-stay trekking.
You will travel to villages populated by the Tamang that brings you closer to the people, their ancient practices that can only be observed and experienced in the natural state – explore through village paths, visit ancient monasteries amidst green meadows and dense Rhododendron forests.
The craftsmanship, dress, traditionally built stone households and the beautifully carved wooden porches reflect the uniqueness and the tranquility of the Himalayan scenery.
You will trail along the Bhote Koshi and Chilime rivers and into Tamang villages, eagerly waiting for your arrival with big smiles. From your homestays windows, you can peep into the great Kingdom of the Himalayas – dramatic views of Langtang mountain range – Lirung, Kerung, Chimse dada ridge, Ganjaa La Pass, Jugal, Mt. Ganesh, and Mt. Manaslu.
Apart from mountain vista the trail also takes you to the high altitude lakes like Gosainkunda, Parvatikunda, Bhairavkunda, and Dudhkunda. These mystical lakes have environmental, cultural and religious values and their own myths. This will add a few more days of stay.
Your journey starts with from either Dhunche or Syarbrubesi 6 to 8-hour drive from Kathmandu. You can plan for either a short or long tour according to your stay in the country.
