Nepal Reliable guide, Highly Recommended
My husband and I did the Langtang-Gosaikund -Helambu trekking with Narayan Pandey, a guide from Gorka. It was our third trip to Nepal. We had a wonderful time mainly thanks to Narayan. He’s a very professional, intelligent and trustworthy guy , speaks very good English and is good fun, always smiling and in a good mood. When there was a sudden change in the weather, he adapted our schedule accordingly. We never experienced the slightest headache due to the altitude since Narayan made sure we never climbed more than 500m a day. At places were accommodation was tight, he sent along a porter to secure a room for us. We intend to go trekking with him again. We very much recommend Narayan to other travellers because we think he can really make a difference!

Everest Base Camp Trekking Best Guide
As a single woman trekking in Nepal, I was a little concerned that I might not find a reliable or trustworthy guide. Luckily I found Machhendra.
In November/December 2008 I trekked with Machhendra in the Annapurna region for 18 days. It was a trip of a lifetime, and mostly due to Machhendra's guidance. Each day of our trip held new wonders, pointed out by his keen eyes and kind heart. We toured temples most trekkers might have missed had they been on their own, or with a guide of less experience. Even when temples were closed he would seek out the caretaker to open the doors and give us a tour.
Our pace while trekking was perfect, not too fast to miss the sights and not too slow to arrive after dark. There are many ways to trek through Nepal, but none better than with an experienced and caring guide like Machhendra. I am planning to return to Nepal and when I do, I will most certainly hire Machhendra as my guide, my friend, to tour the Everest region.

To Whom it may concern,
Having trekked in Nepal on several occasions and used the guiding services of Machendra Tamang, form the SAN TREKKING we wish to recommend him to prospective clients. Machendra's vast experience, professionalism, knowledge, familiarity with the region and his care for his clients is exceptional.
Trekking in Nepal is always something of a spiritual journey for us, but it is made even more special by experiencing the genuine friendship and companionship Machendra shared with us. We encourage prospective clients to utilize his services and ensure continuing employment for him. We believe that your enjoyment of Nepal will be maximized if Machendra is your guide.
On our most recent trek, our small group of four also used the services of Machendra's brother Changba and brother-in-law Kimba. Both of these porters were delightfully cheerful company who voluntarily attended to our every need.
On our latest trek in the Solu Khumbu, we travelled in a clockwise direction from Lukla to Namchee, Thame, across the Renjo La, Gokyo, across the Cho La, Dhzongla, Gorak Shep (Kalla Patthar and EBC), Dinboche to Lukla with many side trips while acclimatizing. This involved crossing a number of high passes and peaks between 5 000 and 6 000 metres. However, Machendra's careful planning ensured excellent acclimatization where no-one experienced even a minor headache. Machendra is highly attuned to the abilities of clients and balances that with the altitude to tailor a sensible pace and ensure everyone's safety. This includes carrying a client's pack if they are struggling on a particular day.
If necessary, Machendra will organize everything including internal flights, permits, accommodation, side tours, visas, etc, and he does so without any commission. He is a highly principled man whose honesty and integrity are beyond question. He has a great depth of character and an absolutely delightful nature and his wonderful sense of humour is another bonus. His dignity and sensitivity is displayed in a quiet, caring manner while he goes about the business of guiding, communicating and negotiating, always in a very unobtrusive manner. Everything on the trek works smoothly because of the efficiency and diplomacy that characterizes him.
Machendra is especially alert, observant and attentive to your condition and he shows a genuine, heartfelt concern for your comfort and welfare. Always, he ensured our needs (meals, lodging, warmth, security, etc.) were met first before he attended to his own. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he communicated his ideas readily and showed flexibility in discussing alternative agendas as they arose. Machendra is an experienced cook and if lodges are busy at meal times, he also cooks excellent meals.
It was a privilege for us to once again enjoy the genuine friendship and sincerity Machendra so readily established with us. Because of his forthright honesty and integrity, we developed a very strong attachment and respect for him. He is an absolute credit to the Trekking Industry of Nepal and we recommend him to you most highly. Without a doubt, when next we visit Nepal, we will ensure that Machendra is our guide.
Thank you again Machendra, for your friendship, efficiency and care. The trek was wonderful but your company added to the enjoyment and the grate memories of Nepal.
Best wishes,
Your Friends,
Best Trekking Guide & Agency Ever.
From the SAN TREKKING agency Narayan took me on a fabulous trek in the hills of central Nepal; "off the beaten track" is an understatement. Everything about it was wonderful, the accomadations, food, but most of all the people in this idyllic place. I found Narayan to be very knowledgable, friendly, capable, and he also speaks very good English. If you want guide you can rest assured to be trustworthy, you will not go wrong with Narayan. When I go back to Nepal he will definately be the guide that I will look up.
Very Knowledgeable, Enthusiastic and Experienced guide
Very Experienced Guide
He is definitely someone you can trust with, I still remember coming out of Kathmandu airport the first time in 2011, and he was there waiting for me and treated me very nicely. I did touring in the city and a trekking in Nagarkot. And back in 2018 also did city touring.
He guides both in the cities as in the mountain doing trekking. He is also very knowledgeable, very intelligent and looks after his travellers.
Definitely a high asset for your trip.
Thank you Narayan
Gracias
Beautiful country, great people, an amazing experience!
Spent about a month in Nepal last year with San trekking. It was such a beautiful experience. Trekking in Pokhara in the Annapurna region and mountain flight was just out of this world. Their team took great care of us. Beautiful country, great people, an amazing experience!
