Namo Buddha is a site of great historical and religious significance.
Namo Buddha monastery was built in the memory of Prince Mahasattva who had sacrificed himself to feed the hungry and dying tigress. You will get to know the legend and the deep-lying meaning and significance for the locals in and around Kathmandu valley.
Namo Buddha Day Tour is a short tour to Namo Buddha Monastery that is located merely one and half hours’ drive away from Kathmandu. You will head to the east and cover 35 km journey to the village of Panauti which is believed to be laid on the single stone. From Panauti, you will take a hike to Namobuddha.
Panauti is the culturally rich village of mixed ethnic people which is famous for its orange production. Starting from Dhulikhel, Namo Buddha can be reached by hiking 3 hours at maximum. There are a very popular stupa and stone craving that portrait the prince’s sacrifice. You can also see and hear the preaching of Lamas, meditating individuals.
Besides these, you can always enjoy the great views of Gaurishanker Mountain, Ganesh Mountain, Langtang Lirung Mountain, and other mountains.
